Who all are waiting to experience some more adventure and suspense with Cormoran Strike. Well.. if you are a fan of Cormoran crime series and not to mention, the TV adaptation of the same, then the wait is not too much longer anymore.
Harry Potter author J.K Rowling, who writes under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, through a tweet on 23rd March 2018 teased her fans with news of her next book. Lethal White, the fourth book under the crime series is going to be released this September after two years of writing. The author mentions that this book will be longest so far.

Lethal White comes with a brand new case for Strike and Robin Ellacott(who is Strike’s assistant turned agency partner). A young man named Billy comes to war veteran turned private detective, Cormoran Strike to investigate a crime, he thinks he witnessed as a child. Strike feels something sincere about his disposition and decides to investigate the matter even after Billy fails to provide any concrete details.

Billy’s vague description and Strike’s new found fame as a private detective makes things difficult to investigate. The case throws both Strike and Robin into back streets of London, into a secretive inner sanctum within Parliament and to sinister manor house deep in the countryside. In the background of the case narrative, the author parallels the complicating personal lives of these detectives. The blurb suggests some development in Strike and Ellacott’s relationship. However, to unravel the mystery, we must wait till this September.

The first three books featuring Cormoran are The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm, Career of Evil which released in 2013,2014 and 2015 respectively.

The Cuckoo’s Calling

Strike has lost his leg to a landmine in Afghanistan and struggling to make a livelihood out of his detective skills. He receives a visitor named James Bristow. John wants Strike to investigate the case of his late supermodel sister Lula Landry who was affectionately called Cuckoo by her friends. The police believe it to be nothing but a suicide but her brother refuses to accept it. With this Strike rolls out to the world of beauties, rockstar boyfriends and desperate designers.
But what does Strike discovers in the end? Was it really a murder as claimed by John or the police were right throughout?

The Silkworm

Novelist Owen Quine hasn’t returned home for a few days. He has done this before. But when Quine doesn’t return for several days, his wife goes to Cormoran Strike.
In the early phase of his investigation itself, Strike realizes that Quine’s disappearance is more serious than his wife believes. Strike discovers a completed manuscript of Quine’s upcoming novel in which there are enough secrets to ruin reputation and lives. There are various suspects now who may have their reasons to silence Quine.
When Quine is finally found brutally murdered, the case becomes more serious. Is killer among those Owen spilled secrets about or is it something nobody imagined?

Career of Evil

Strike’s assistant Robin receives a mysterious package containing a woman’s severed leg. While the police focus on the one suspect Strike is increasingly sure he is not the one to look for. Strike and Robin start exploring the serial killer case and finds out some really shocking and dark revelations.

The books present very realistic scenarios at every point. The characters produced are deep and are as equal to real. The descriptions of the private lives of the detectives add authenticity to the narrative and help readers understand their hero more effectively.
For those of you who haven’t yet read the previous releases, its good time to catch up the thrill.
